Kick off the fall season at the Annual Oktoberfest in Helen, Georgia. This two-month celebration is the longest-running Oktoberfest in the United States, and the town of Helen takes that responsibility seriously. This festival features authentic German-style food, music, and dancing, including the waltz and the polka. Bonus points if you show up in your best lederhosen or dirndl.

This event spans 9 days in October and is a classic fall festival, but with a twist. Celebrate the season with arts and crafts, a flower show, the Georgia State Fiddler’s Convention, and live music every day. If that’s not enough to tempt you, you can also see “Old Ways Demonstrations” of lost skills like blacksmithing, quilting, cider milling, and more. The cherry on top is the 3-times daily tiger show, which features 12 Bengal tigers and 2 white tigers.
